Broadcasting / Television Production

(More 2019 Updates to this page coming soon!)

This page provides brief examples of Jason's television production experience as both an educator and as a professional in the field.  Jason received his broadcast training from Kansas State University as well as at KTKA-49 ABC in Topeka, Kansas and has kept current with emerging trends in broadcast technology, including digital convergence with the web and social media production.

Jason's current video broadcasting work includes directing his students in the productions of multi-camera live streams of football and basketball games for the Sports Division at Southwestern College and live-to-tape multiple-camera productions of theatre events and music concerts for SC's Performing Arts Division.  Since August of 2017, he has (re)built the production portion of SC's Broadcasting & Film concentration from an empty studio with incomplete equipment to a fully-functioning digital-HD program.  Examples of Jason's custom broadcast switcher builds and his reconstruction of a donated news set can be viewed below.
